We are an independently owned café located between the Royal Crescent & Circus in the beautiful city of Bath.

We offer fantastic food & drinks in a relaxed & welcoming atmosphere. There is seating for around thirty people inside or in warmer weather you can sit & people watch at the front of the building.

If you are looking for a secluded suntrap, we also have a delightful courtyard to the back.

The Green Bird Café was opened in July 2015 by people with a background in food & retail & who know & love this fantastic city.
Our menu changes daily & all food is made on the premises using great ingredients, such as Free- Range meat from Devon & amazing tomatoes from the Isle of Wight.

We offer a varied choice of breakfast; keep it simple with local Bertinet toast & jam or treat yourself to delicious American-style pancakes with maple syrup & bacon. Or you can start your day with a bowl of porridge, scrambled Free-Range eggs on toast or a crispy bacon bap.

Our lunch menu is simple but well thought out, offering a selection of freshly made sandwiches served with salad. Popular choices are Salt Beef, Emmenthal & Dill Pickle or Creamy Brie with Isle of Wight tomatoes. All of our bread is from the Bertinet Bakery here in Bath. It is their huge sourdough which forms the basis for our delicious & extremely popular toasties. Filled with Mature Cheddar, Hand-Carved Ham & Mustard or Mozarella, Pesto & Sund-dried Tomatoes they will certainly leave you satisfied!

Our soups, tarts & stews vary from day to day & depending on the season. Our most popular soup to date has to be Celariac & Midford Cider – sure to warm you on a chilly day.

Since opening we have gained a great reputation for our variety of delicious cakes, which also includes some gluten free options.

Our coffee comes from Brian Wogan, a long-running family business based in Bristol. We have carefully selected a single-estate Nicaraguan bean which forms the foundation of all our delicious coffees. Not only are the beans directly traded, which means more money for the growers, Brian Wogan also sponsors students on the Teach a Man To Fish education charity. teachamantofish.org.uk

Henny & Joe’s Chai has become a firm favourite on the hot drinks menu & we are lucky to have known its creators for many years. This too, is made in Bath. On the chilled drinks front, we freshly squeeze our orange juice & make our own zingy lemonade to order.

We source the remainder of our soft drinks directly from Ashridge drinks company, wholly Organic & based in Devon.

We are fully licensed which has allowed us to hand pick a fantastic selection of alcoholic drinks. Our wine list is small but carefully chosen to offer exceptional quality at an affordable price. Whites, Reds, Rose & Sparkling are all available by the glass or bottle.

We also stock bottled ales from both Bath Ales & Wiper & True in Bristol. The cider we have selected to sell is Honey’s Midford Cider which is made just twelve miles out of Bath.
